The 10th annual Tipperary Women's Mini Marathon will take place in Clonmel on Sunday, 29th September at 10.45am. This event provides a great opportunity for women of all ages to get active and take part in a womens only event. All finishers will receive a specially designed race medallion and a technical tee-shirt. The event is registered with the AAI and all participants will be chip timed. There is also a charitable donation of €200 to the largest group to register who are rasing funds for a charitable cause. Spot prizes will also be distributed on the day.
The event was launched in June by Kellie O'Donnell, Special Olympics World Games Medalist.
This event will start at the earlier time of 10.45am on the Quay (small carpark at the bottom of Sarsfield Street) in Clonmel following a warm up at 10.30am. Participants will head up the Quay and will turn right at the end of the Quay, followed by a left into Irishtown. At the top of Irish Town participants will take a left over the Presentation Bridge where they will turn left heading for the Old Bridge and will travel up the Raheen Road. At the roundabout they will cross the road onto Coleville Road in the direction of Kilganey. At the end of the road participants will turn left over Sir Thomas Bridge and will swing left onto the Waterford Road heading back into Clonmel where the finish line will be at the Sporting Press.
Participants are asked to arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the start of the event. Also, there is about a 5 -7 minute walk to the start line.
Participants must wear their official race numbers and chip timing, these may be collected at CTI Senior College, The Mall, Clonmel, on Saturday 28th September 2019 between 10am and 2pm or Sunday 29th September 2019 between 8am and 9.30am.
Swapping of race numbers is not permitted.
Participants must be over 18 years of age.
No headphones to be worn by participants for safety reasons.
Parking will be available on the day in the Public Car Park in the area.
Participants are responsible for their own safety and are participating at their own risk.
All participants must obey the rules of the road at all times. Be aware of other road users as this event will be run on open roads.
Participants must obey the instructions of the Gardai, the civil defence and event marshalls at all times.
