We are delighted to announce that our Lakers Roundwood Run is open for Registration! 

The run will take place on Sunday 12th September. Meeting at the Roundwood Parish Hall with Check in taking place between 8.30 and 10 am.

Covid Safety Measures will be in place on the day & all runners will be asked to sign a Pre-Race Covid Health Form.

Free BBQ and & Prize Giving for 1st & 2nd Place

LAKERS Roundwood Reservoir 10km Run 2021

Saturday 12th September 10.30


Details for the event are as following:


  • Parking for competitors is available at the new Upper Vartry Car Park (this is a public car park)
  • There is on street parking in Roundwood.
  • There will be NO PARKING available at The Parish Hall to ensure space for distancing.



  • Registration will take place at Roundwood Parish Hall, located on Main Street Across From the Church. There is a path from here to the starting point.
  • Everyone must check in on the day, there will be a pre-registered and a place to register on the day. Please make sure you follow safety signs. 
  • Registration opens at 8.30am and closes at 10.00 am.
  • The Race starts at 10.30 am
  • Tech T-Shirts and race numbers will be available at registration
  • T-Shirts are only guaranteed for competitors who registered online prior to Monday 30th of August 



Health & Safety Statement :

Please do not register for our event or be a spectator if you have travelled to any of the areas affected by the Covid-19 Coronavirus in the last 3 weeks (whether you are well or not).  Please make sure that you are fit to run, and for the sake of our runners, and their more vulnerable family and friends, do not attend if you have cold, or flu like symptoms, or a temperature. Runners, Walkers and spectators will be asked to use hand sanitizers at registration and after the run. Facilities will be available for hand washing, as well as handsanitizing stations at various points. 

Covid distancing, queuing and safety measures will be in place. Please use hand sanitizing stations and follow signs and instructions from our stewards to ensure your safety and the safety of other runners. 


  • The route is around the reservoir and is mostly trail with some uneven terrain, there is only approx. 1km on the road (3km-4km). The course is flat apart from 1 set of steps and a slight incline after steps.
  • No special shoes required – runners are fine for this route, wear ones you don’t mind getting dirty as it’s a little mucky in places at the moment thanks to the Irish weather!




  • The Run will be chip timed for runners



  • Water Station on route of Run (approx. 4.5km)
  • Water Station at Finish Line with Light refreshments



  • Toilets available at the Parish Hall.



  • There will be an area marked to leave your belongings in the Parish Hall, however, this is limited due to Covid - and at your own risk. We ask that as many people as possible leave their belongings in the car or with family



  • 1st Place Male & Female will recieve a voucher or prize worth over €100
  • 2nd Place Male and Female will recieve a voucher worth over €50
  • Prize Giving is at approx. 12 noon at Parish Hall
  • BBQ and refreshments at Parish Hall post-race.
