Description

After the huge success of last year, Islandeady Cycling Club is hosting their third 5 and 10k run on Saturday August 3rd, 2019 starting at 10am from Jacks Old Cottage, Islandeady, Castlebar.

The run is in memory of Jessica Needham, formerly of Lismolin, Islandeady who died tragically on August 2nd, 2016 at the tender age of eight and a half years.

Jessica’s parents Pat and Michelle have chosen to donate the funds raised this year to the Islandeady Ladies Football Club

The race and is open to everyone to walk, jog or run at your own pace.

It is officially measured and licence is granted by Athletics Ireland in conjunction with Westport Athletics Club. The race will be chipped timed again this year.

The race will then start and finish at Jack's Old Cottage, Derrycooraune, Islandeady at 10am sharp on Saturday August 3rd. From there participants will run in a clockwise direction around a 5km route ending back at Jack's Cottage. Those entering the 10km event must cover the route a second time. Parking will be available adjacent to Jack's Cottage. Participants will be able to collect their race number in Jack's Cottage from 8am until 9.30am on the morning of race day. Race briefing will be at 9.45am. Refreshments will be served after.

Entry is €12 per adult and under 16 are free. You can register on Friday evening from 6.00 to 7.30pm or on the morning of the event from 8.00 to 9.30am or pre-register now and keep up to date on the event details on facebook.com/runislandeady

Race Details:

The race is officially measured and licienced granted by Athletic's Ireland in conjunction with Westport Athletics Club.

The race will then start 100 metere's approx. from Jack's Old Cottage at 10am sharp on Saturday August 5th. From there participants will run in a clockwise direction around a 5km route ending back at Jack's Cottage. Those entering the 10km event must cover the route a second time. Parking will be available adjacent to Jack's Cottage.

Refreshments will be served after.
