2019 daa Nicola Radford Charity Cycle
2019 will be the 9th Annual daa Charity Cycle. A hugely successful fundraising event for daa charities of the year. Last year over €18k was raised and this year we aim to raise more for our three very worthy charities.
This year the charities being supported are:
- DEBRA Ireland
- Gary Kelly Centre
- Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus Ireland
The cycle will start and finish at Castlemoate House, Dublin Airport and take us through some of the pictureesque towns and villages of North County Dublin and Meath along the way.
This year's cycle will be run in memory of Nicola Radford, who passed following a short battle with cancer in 2015. Nicola was a colleague, friend and one of the co-organisers of the event in recent years and will be sadly missed at this years event.
Registration costs €30 + booking fee and all of the proceeds go to charities, as ALL of the event costs have been kindly sponsored and funded by daa and other generous companies.
The start/finish point will be at Castlemoate House, Cloghran, Co. Dublin.
Please park in your regular space at the Airport, if you have one.
Registration will open at 8.45am on the day. Please bring your confirmation emails and any additional sponsorship raised with you and present them at registration.
The cycle will start at 9:45am Sharp, so please don't be late. Late starters will not be permitted.
Please ensure you have the following:
- A road worthy bicycle that is in good working order, recently serviced
- A cycling helmet
- Suitable clothing (Please check the weather forecast the night before)
- A drink bottle, energy bar and gels if required
The event will be marshalled with cyclists, motorbikes and event vehicles. Mechanical support will be available for running repairs during the event.
Medical support will be provided in the event of an accident. An ambulance will be available for incidents and all event vehicles will be equipped with a basic medical kit.
A lunch stop will be available serving tea, coffee and sandwiches. Any dietary requirements, do email firstname.lastname@example.org in advance of the event.
The cycling jerseys (for the first 150 entratns) and goodie bags will be issued in the week prior to the event.
We would be grateful if everyone could wear the jersey on the day for easy identification to the marshals and to pay our respects to Nicola.
A BBQ will be provided for all participants at the finish line, so please hang around to welcome the remaining participants across the finish line.
The event has typically 100 participants each year, however we are planning to double that number this year to 200. Places will be limited to 200, so if you want to be part of this really enjoyable event, please register today to avoid disappointment.
